Rage Head To Omaha To Battle The Beef

RiverCity Rage News Release

St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football Team heads to Omaha, NE for a rematch against the Beef this weekend. The two teams squared off in RiverCity's last game on March 22nd at the Family Arena. The Rage (3-0) dominated Omaha (2-2) on both sides of the ball, winning 36-18.

The defense led the way as they held Omaha to only 104 total yards of offense and six first downs. Linebacker, Joe Bevis, was named "Defensive Player of the Week" for his outstanding effort. The University of Illinois alum totaled a UIF season-high 14 tackles and one quarterback hurry. Rage quarterback, Anthony Fisher, turned in his best performance of the season as well. The second year starter threw for 143 yards and three scores while also leading the team in rushing with 42 yards and another touchdown.

With all of the success in their last meeting, Rage Head Coach, Ken Stills, says the rematch will be his team's "toughest challenge to date" as Omaha is coming off what might be their biggest win as a franchise. The Beef ended the 40-game winning streak of the Sioux Falls Storm last week, 34-18.

"They will certainly have the momentum this week," said Stills. "That was a fabulous win for that franchise. They play as well as anyone in league at home. They have a great crowd that makes a ton of noise the whole game."

The Rage are the only remaining undefeated team in the UIF but are coming off their only bye week of the season. Coach Stills isn't sure whether the bye week was a good thing.

"I'm a little concerned about our three days this week in practice," added Stills. "These guys have other jobs and responsibilities in their lives and when you get away from the game for that long it can be a little tough to jump right back in. I put a lot of that on the coaches, though. This week will be tough but if we play or game and limit the mistakes we will always have a chance to win."

The Rage return home next for a three game homestand beginning with Saturday, April 12th against the Bloomington Extreme. The team will remain home for games with Wichita April 19th and Sioux Falls April 26th. The Rage have three great promotions set for the games and good seats are still available for all three dates with prices starting at just $5.
