The Rage was led by quarterback Jimmy Sankster, who threw for 170 yards, two touchdowns, and ran one in for his first rushing score of the year. The Rage defense held the Thunder to 209 yards of total offense and just 35 yards on the ground. Newcomer Levy Brown led the Rage with eight tackles, Joe Bevis recorded seven, and Pig Brown had five key takedowns. Thunder quarterback Buddy Rivera finished the day completing 16 of 22 passes for 174 yards and one touchdown.
"I was really happy with the way we played on defense and special teams," said head coach Rik Richards. "We had a lot of guys flying to the ball on defense and we really ran the ball well. I am happy how we bounced back and grabbed a big victory on the road."
The Rage will wrap up their two-game road trip next Saturday when they battle the Bloomington Extreme on June 13th. The Rage will return home for the final time during the regular season on June 20th to battle El Paso, kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
