
United Indoor Football Week 5 Preview

Omaha, NE - Welcome to week five of the United Indoor Football season. All eight teams will be in action. On Saturday, we'll see "Bull Bowl II", a clash between the Ice and the Bandits, another "Wild and Extreme" contest and the Storm and Outlaws face off.
RIVERCITY (3-0) vs. OMAHA (2-2)
At Omaha, NE
Saturday, 7 p.m. Central
Fresh off ending Sioux Falls' 40-game winning streak, the Omaha Beef welcome another unbeaten team to the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The Beef will face off against the RiverCity Rage Saturday evening. In their game against Sioux Falls, Omaha was led by by DB Diezeas Calbert and QB James McNear. Calbert tallied seven tackles and also intercepted two Terrance Bryant passes. For his efforts, he was named UIF Defensive Player of the Week. McNear had 156 yards of total offense (67 rushing and 89 passing) and threw for two touchdowns. RiverCity is coming off a bye week. In their last action, they defeated Omaha 36-18 at home on March 22nd. RiverCity was led by QB Anthony Fisher and their defense. Fisher had 183 yards of total offense (40 rushing and 143 passing) and scored four total touchdowns (one rushing and three passing). The Rage's defense was led by Joe Bevis who made a team-high 14 tackles (one TFL) and had a quarterback hurry. The defense also tallied four sacks, an interception and six pass break ups.
COLORADO (1-2) vs. SIOUX CITY (2-1)
At Sioux City, IA
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Central
The Sioux City Bandits complete a two-game homestand by hosting the Colorado Ice Saturday evening at the Tyson Events Center. Last week, Sioux City beat Billings 31-30 at home. Leading the Bandits in the win were DB Chad Hustedt and WR O.J. Simpson. Hustedt was second on the team with his 7.5 tackles and also intercepted a pass. Offensively, Simpson had caught eight passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns. As a result, he was named Offensive Player of the Week. Colorado is coming off a win as well, having defeated Bloomington 43-23 on the road last Friday evening. Leading the Ice in the victory were QB Garrett Mehl and LB Ryan Palmer. Mehl accumulated 215 yards of total offense (48 rushing and 167 passing) and threw for two touchdowns. Palmer tallied a team-high 7.5 tackles (one TFL) and ½ a sack.
BLOOMINGTON (1-3) vs. WICHITA (0-3)
At Wichita, KS
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Central
For the second time in three weeks, the Bloomington Extreme and Wichita Wild will face off, this time at Kansas Coliseum. The Wild are coming off a bye week. In their last action, they fell to this same Extreme team 59-38 in Bloomington on March 22nd. Wichita was led by QB Tyler Schuerman and DB Orlandus Williams. Schuerman had 193 yards of total offense (12 rushing and 181 passing) and had a hand in four touchdowns (rushing for one and passing for three). Williams made 6.5 tackles, recovered a fumble and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown and also intercepted a pass. Bloomington fell 43-23 to the Colorado Ice last Friday evening at home. The Extreme were led by WR Derin Graham and DB Carlos Lattimore. Graham caught two passes for 50 yards and also returned five kicks for 108 yards. Lattimore made five solo tackles and assisted on seven more for a total of 8.5 to lead the team.
SIOUX FALLS (2-1) vs. BILLINGS (3-0)
At Billings, MT
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Mountain
The top two teams in the UIF's Western Conference will meet as the Billings Outlaws host the Sioux Falls Storm at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. Both teams are coming off losses as Billings fell to Sioux City 31-30 and Sioux Falls lost to Omaha 34-18, their first loss in 41 games. The Outlaws were led by WR Willie Austin and DB Jacquwan Brackenridge. Austin caught six passes for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Brackenridge contributed 8.5 tackles and an interception to lead the defense. Leading the way for the Storm were WR/KR Bryan Alberty and DL Dominic Payne. Alberty caught four passes for 36 yards and a touchdown and also returned seven kicks for 177 yards to finish the night with 213 all-purpose yards. Payne made six solo stops and also assisted on six more to lead the team with nine tackles.
