
Olympian Kelli Stack Signs with Connecticut Whale

Northford, CT - Kelli Stack has signed a contract with the Connecticut Whale for the 2016-17 season, General Manager Lisa Giovanelli announced Sunday. Stack and the Whale agreed to terms on a one-year, $26,000 contract.
"Kelli is a dynamic player with speed and phenomenal hands to match," said Head Coach Heather Linstad. "She is a difference maker in our lineup. Kelli will be counted on to lead the offense and bring continuity to the locker room this season."
Stack scored 22 points (8g, 14a) in 17 regular season games with the Whale last season. She scored an additional two goals in the team's three Isobel Cup Playoffs games. Stack has played in 5 IIHF World Championships and 6 Four Nations Cup tournaments with USA Hockey, as well as two U-22 Series.
Stack competed at the 2010 and 2014 Olympic Games, where she collected a total of 13 points (4g, 9a) in 10 games.
"I am excited to be back playing for the Whale, and have high hopes for this group," said Stack. "I am looking forward to this season and our quest for the Isobel Cup."
Restricted free agency began on April 1 and lasted until April 30. Free agency began May 1 and lasts until July 31. The 2016 NWHL Draft was on June 18.
