Olympian Hilary Knight Joins Boston Pride

July 31, 2016 - Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) News Release

Boston, MA - Hilary Knight will join the Boston Pride for the 2016-17 season, General Manager Hayley Moore announced Sunday. Knight and the Pride agreed to terms on a one-year, $20,000 contract.

"Hilary is an absolute game changer," said Moore. "She proved that last season; she rises in the heat of the pressure, and brings energy into the building. Both on and off the ice, Knight pushes boundaries, sets new limits, and inspires those around her. There are lines out the door of young girls who want to see Hilary play, and that's for a good reason."

Knight was named Co-Captain of the Pride last season, and won the Leading Scorer award for her league-high 33 regular season points (15g, 18a). In the Isobel Cup Playoffs, Knight scored 9 points (7g, 2a) in 4 games on the way to the championship.

The forward has played in nine Four Nations Cup tournaments, eight IIHF World Championships, and the 2010 and 2014 Olympic Games.

Restricted free agency began on April 1 and lasted until April 30. Free agency began May 1 and lasts until July 31. The 2016 NWHL Draft was on June 18.
