
Olmeda Cracks Nuts with 11th Inning Walk-Off Hit

San Bernardino, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino took the opener of a three-game set over the Modesto Nuts 5-4 in 11-innings at San Manuel Stadium. Alexis Olmeda delivered a game-winning RBI single off the wall to give the Sixers their sixth win in seven games versus Modesto, three in extra-innings.
The 66ers (36-63, 10-20) took a 2-0 lead in the second when Devin Davis smashed a two-run homer to left. It was Davis' fourth dinger of the season. The 66ers made it 4-1 in the sixth with RBI singles from Mike Stefanic and Gleyvin Pineda. Cooper Criswell pitched a career- high 6.2 innings in a no-decision for the Sixers. The Nuts cut the lead to 4-3 in the seventh and with two outs in the ninth, 3B Kevin Santa drew a walk for Modesto. After a lengthy battle, Jack Scheiner then singled to left and Santa tied the game coming home on an error in leftfield. After Nate Bertness (4-3) delivered a scoreless top half of the 11th, Alexis Olmeda drilled a Ray Kerr (3-5) offering off the wall scoring pinch runner Rayneldy Rosario for the win.
