Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The USHL league office announced today that Dubuque Fighting Saints forwards Michael O'Leary and Willie Knierim have been named to participate in the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Omaha, Neb. on Tuesday, January 12.

O'Leary, a Halifax native, was named a C-ranked skater with NHL Central Scouting in both Players to Watch lists released this season. He recently netted his first USHL goal in a 7-4 win over the Waterloo Black Hawks on December 5.

Knierim, of Skokie, Ill., was listed as a B-ranked skater according to NHL Central Scouting on both Players to Watch lists. He has scored four goals and six assists for 10 points this season. Currently, Knierim is representing Team USA at the World Junior A Challenge in Coburg, Ontario.

Teams were selected with the help and cooperation of NHL general managers and scouts, along with NHL Central Scouting and general managers across the USHL.

"After a record-breaking NHL Draft in 2015 in which no junior league in the world had more draft picks than the USHL, this should be a momentous year for the league and the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game," said Bob Fallen, USHL President and Commissioner. "By being selected for the event, these players have already captured the attention of NHL scouts, and the game provides them another opportunity to be evaluated among the best talent in their age group."
