
Five Lumberjacks Selected for USHL Top Prospects Game

Chicago, IL - In coordination with the United States Hockey League, the Muskegon Lumberjacks are excited to announce that five players, Zach Berzolla, Derek Daschke, Mitch Eliot, Bo Hanson and Rem Pitlick have been selected to participate in the upcoming 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game held on Tuesday, January 12th in Omaha, NE.
Berzolla, the Howell, New Jersey native, has totaled two assists in 21 career games. The Colorado College commit was ranked as a "C" rated prospect according to NHL Central Scouting in late November, projecting the defenseman as a fourth, fifth or sixth round pick in June's 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
Daschke, the Troy, Michigan native, has recorded three goals and 13 assists in 77 career USHL games with both the Lumberjacks and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. In 17 games with Muskegon this season, the defenseman has recorded five assists. The Western Michigan commit was also ranked as a "C" rated prospect according to NHL Central Scouting.
Eliot, the Grosse Pointe, Michigan native, is in his second full season with the Lumberjacks. In 79 career games, the future Michigan State Spartan has recorded one goal and seven assists. The defenseman was another "C" rated Lumberjacks prospect, according to NHL Central Scouting in late November.
Hanson, the Boise, Idaho native and defensive partner of Eliot, is also in his second season with the Lumberjacks. In 72 career games, he has recorded one goal and five assists. Hanson is the fourth Lumberjacks defensemen ranked as a "C" rated prospect according to NHL Central Scouting, projecting him as a fourth, fifth, or sixth round draft pick for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
Pitlick, the Plymouth, Minnesota native, is in his second full season with the USHL. The second year draft eligible forward, is second in USHL scoring with 14 goals and 14 assists, in 19 games. The Shattuck St. Mary's product has played in 66 career USHL games. Currently, the University of Minnesota commit is representing Team USA in the World Junior A Challenge, and scored one goal in the 6-0 win over Czech Republic yesterday.
The fourth annual USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game will feature 40 of the USHL's top draft-eligible players facing off at Ralston Arena, home of the Omaha Lancers. The Muskegon Lumberjacks (10-9-2) return home for a pair of games against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders before the holiday break. On Friday, December 18th, it will be dollar beer and dollar dog night, with a special start time at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, December 19th, the Lumberjacks will host their Ugly Sweater Night, and puck drop will return to 7:15 p.m.
