Two Gamblers Selected to Top Prospects Game

The United States Hockey League today announced the 40 players selected to compete in the 2015 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game that will take place on January 12th in Omaha, NE at Ralston Arena, home of the USHL's Omaha Lancers. Forward John Leonard and defenseman Andrew Peeke were selected from the Gamblers.

Committed to the University of Massachusetts, Leonard has tallied four points (three goals, one assist) in 19 games this season with the Gamblers. Leonard was also a member of the U.S. Under-18 Select Team that competed at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

Peeke currently leads all Gamblers defensemen with 14 points (2 goals, 12 assists) in 22 games this season. Internationally, Peeke is a member of the WJAC U.S. Select team currently competing north of the boarder in Whitby, Ontario and was a member of the U.S. Under-18 Select Team at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. Peeke also competed in the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game this past September. Peeke is committed to Notre Dame.

2016 marks the fourth time the USHL will be hosting the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, and it follows a record-setting 2015 NHL Draft that saw 37 players from the 2014-15 season selected by NHL teams. The 2016 NHL Draft will be held June 24-25 in Buffalo, NY at the First Niagara Center, home of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres.
