LAST GAME: Oklahoma beat Colorado Springs 15-12 Saturday night. The RedHawks used an 11 run second inning to take a commanding lead, but the Sky Sox battled back once starter Tommy Hunter left the game. Hunter pitched six innings for his second win and fourth quality start in five tries. The Sky Sox tallied nine runs over the final two innings to bring the deficit down to three. Ryan Roberts hit two home runs in the second inning and drove in seven, while Nelson Cruz later added his 36th home run, the most in professional baseball at any level.

OKLAHOMA'S ELEVEN: The RedHawks 11 run output in the second inning last night was their most productive inning all season, surpassing the eight run eighth inning in the 19-3 win on April 17 against Round Rock. The one inning offensive explosion outscored 101 of the 107 games Oklahoma had previously played this year.

ROBERTS RECORD INNING:

Ryan Robert tied a PCL record with seven runs batted in during one inning last night, knocking two home runs in the second, a three-run blast and a grand slam. It was the 17th time in league history that a played hit two home runs in one inning, and just the fourth time a player drove in seven runs in one frame. Mario Valdez of Salt Lake was the most recent, accomplishing the feat in 2000, and matched Sacramento's Alexis Kampouris (1932) and Los Angeles' Jigger Statz (1939). The seven runs batted in were a new single-game high from any RedHawk this season, and marked the first time all year that Roberts drove in more than two runs in a game.

SATURDAY NIGHTS ALRIGHT FOR WINNING:

The RedHawks improved to 14-5 on Saturdays this season, by far their best day of the week. Most of Oklahoma's struggles have come on the day before or the day after. The RedHawks are 6-11 on Fridays and head into play this afternoon with a 7-10 mark on Sundays.

MOTORIN' ON:

John Mayberry extended his hitting streak to a current team-high six games last night. The Oklahoma outfielder is hitting .280 during the modest streak and has driven in three runs. Mayberry has been in a slight home run drought as of late, having only hit one home run in his last 21 games after knocking ten out during the first 59 games with Oklahoma.

REDHAWK HOME RUN KING:

Nelson Cruz became the RedHawks all-time, single season home run leader on July 19 with a three home run game. Cruz's 36 home runs match Steve Balboni's total during the 1993 season for second-most in Oklahoma's Triple-A history. Dave Roberts hold first place with 38 home runs during the 1965 season.

COLORADO SPRINGS AT A GLANCE:

Today's starter Josh Hall had previously been pitching for the Lancaster Barnstormers in the Atlantic League prior to signing with Colorado on Friday. Originally a Reds seventh round draft choice in 1998, Hall played seven seasons within the organization before signing with Washington in 2007. He began this season in Harrisburg, going 1-4 with an 8.40 ERA prior to his release. Hall was 6-3 with a 4.10 ERA over 13 starts, striking out 44 and walking 24 in 83.1 innings pitched.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

The RedHawks win last night guaranteed at least a .500 record during the month of July... Taylor Teagarden is slated to leave the RedHawks and join Team USA for training early this week... Gerald Laird's rehab assignment with Oklahoma ended prior to last night's game. Laird started all four games behind the plate in Salt Lake, and went 0-12 with a walk and a pair of runs batted in on two sacrifice flies.
