TODAY'S OPPONENT:

The Omaha Royals are the Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. They have been a member of the PCL since 1998. Last year, Omaha finished fourth in American North Division with a 53-91 record.

VS. OMAHA:

The RedHawks won the season series 10-6 in 2006. RedHawks went 5-3 at home. The 'Hawks hit .260 with eight home runs vs. Royal pitching. RedHawks pitchers had a 2.82 ERA. Oklahoma leads the all time series 69-45.

TODAY'S GAME:

This is game 30 of the season. It's the third game of a four-game series and the second of 16 meetings between Oklahoma and Omaha this season.

LAST GAME:

The RedHawks won their fourth straight game by beating Omaha 7-6. The RedHawks hit three homers and won in their last at bat in the ninth. Josh Rupe started and went seven innings, he allowed two runs on five hits for a no-decision.

ROSTER MOVES:

Pitcher Wes Littleton was called up by Texas yesterday. He was 0-1 with a save and a 4.61 ERA in nine games for the RedHawks.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Bruce Chen

makes his second start of the season for the RedHawks. He allowed one run on three hits in 3.2 innings in his last start. Chen was making his first start of the season after beginning the year pitching out of Texas' bullpen. Tyler Lumsden will get the start for Omaha.

WINNING THE CLOSE ONES:

The RedHawks won their fourth straight one-run game yesterday. Kevin West's two-RBI single in the ninth was the second walk-off win for the RedHawks during the four game streak. For the season, they are 9-4 in games decided by one run.

HOMER HAPPY:

The RedHawks have homered in five straight games, which is their longest streak of the season. Kevin Mahar (1), Marlon Byrd (3) and Jason Botts (2) all hit solo home runs yesterday.The three homers are the most in one game this season. The RedHawks have 17 on the season and eight this month after hitting just nine in April.

CLUTCH HITTING:

In the last 14 games, the RedHawks are hitting .352 (45-128) with runners in scoring position after going 4-for-8 yesterday. They had only 22 hits with RISP through the first 15 games of season. For the season, they are hitting .260 (67-258) with RISP. Jason Botts leads the team with 10 hits and 14 RBIs with RISP.

BIG BYRD:

Byrd went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a homer, two RBIs and two runs scored yesterday. For the series he is 6-for-10 with two doubles, two home runs, three RBIs and three runs scored. He has home run in three straight games.

TUG HULETT: Tug Hulett

has reached base in 20 consecutive games dating to April 8. He went 2-for-5 yesterday. Since taking over the starter's job at second base last week at Round Rock, Hulett has hit safely in nine of 12 games, going 19-for-42 with one homer, five RBIs and 11 runs scored.

STARTER QUALITY:

Rupe's effort last night was good enough for his second quality start of the season. The RedHawks are 10-1 when a starter goes six plus innings this season.

DOT-DOT-DOT

: RedHawk pitchers have allowed the fewest hits in the PCL this season with 220... Hulett is third in the league with a .471 on-base percentage...Drew Meyer has a seven-game hitting streak.
