
Oklahoma City wins over New Orleans

The RedHawks added double digits in hits (12) and runs (10) for the second consecutive night defeating New Orleans 10-1 on Friday evening at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
Oklahoma City (15-7) continued to strike early. A two-run homer in the bottom of the third inning off the bat of Matt Brown extended the RedHawks lead to three. It was Brown's fifth of the year, first at the Brick. In the Sixth, Brandon Boggs lifted a solo shot to right field for his second home run of the season.
Oklahoma City held a five-run lead through seven innings. The RedHawks doubled that mark with a five-run eighth inning. New Orleans (8-13) was able to break their scoreless mark with a Lee Mitchell RBI single in the ninth inning.
The strong pitching performance was led by starter Michael Kirkman(3-0) who earned the win extending his scoreless inning streak to 17.2 innings. Kirkman collected eight strikeouts over 6.2 innings scattering four hits. Clay Rapada pitched a scoreless inning followed by Omar Beltre who went 1.1 innings striking out two, allowing a run. Losing pitcher Ryan Tucker (0-2) lasted six innings giving up six hits and four earned runs.
Emerson Frostad found his first triple of the season, part a two-hit night including a double and two RBIs. Jarrod Saltalamacchia continued his hot pace with a single and a double.
Oklahoma City and New Orleans will continue their four-game set Saturday evening at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Guillermo Moscos and Brian Lawrence are slated to pitch for the RedHawks and Zephyrs respectively with a first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm.
