Iowa Cubs News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - The Oklahoma City Dodgers (15-4) rode a four-run fourth to victory as they bested the Iowa Cubs (4-15) 4-1, Friday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The I-Cubs out-hit the Dodgers 7-6, but failed to push the runners home as they left seven stranded. The Dodgers capitalized, going 3-for-6 with runners in scoring position. Iowa has now dropped six straight for the first time since 2016.

Jen-Ho Tseng (0-4) put together his longest start of the season, working through 6.0 frames. Tseng had a shaky fourth when the Dodgers scored four, but otherwise put together a solid outing. The righty allowed just two hits through his other 5.0 innings.

In the fourth, the first four Dodger batters of the inning reached, starting with a leadoff walk by Henry Ramos. Travis Taijeron batted in two with a triple, before Jake Peter and Tyler Pill each collected an RBI with singles in the inning.

Iowa avoided the shutout with a mini two-out rally in the eighth. Efren Navarro slugged a triple and Mark Zagunis promptly took advantage with an RBI single. Zagunis was 2-for-4 on the night and is now 17-for-37 (.460) since April 15. Taylor Davis notched his third-consecutive multi-hit game, going 2-for-4.

Anthony Bass and Dillon Maples each tossed a scoreless inning to make up Iowa's relief effort. A dropped third strike in the eighth led to a rare four-strikeout inning for Maples.

Iowa and Oklahoma City clash again at 7:05 pm. CT tomorrow at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. To catch all the action, listen on AM 940 or www.iowacubs.com.
