OKLAHOMA CITY - OKC Energy FC has announced the signing of midfielder Reed McKenna, General Manager Jason Hawkins announced today. McKenna recently finished his college career at UC Santa Barbara.

"Reed is a skillful winger who has done well for us," said Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen. "He is talented, hard-working and hungry to succeed."

McKenna played two seasons at UCLA before transferring to UCSB to finish his collegiate career. At UCSB, McKenna started 15 matches and scored his first career goal on October 13, 2013, against UC Irvine.

"I'm happy to be starting off my professional career with Energy FC," McKenna said. "I'm excited to play for a great coach like Jimmy Nielsen and represent Oklahoma City. The team has really good players and I hope to contribute to a successful season for the club and fans."

McKenna was an ESPN RISE first-team All-American at Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, California. The Broncos won the section title and made a CIF regional semifinal appearance in 2011. McKenna was named the All-San Diego section player of the year in 2011 and a member of the SuperElite team in 2010.

McKenna was named to the U.S. Development Academy Western Region starting XI in 2009 and an all-league honoree as a freshman at Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii. He played club soccer for the San Diego Surf Academy from 2010-11 and Nomads SC from 2008-10. McKenna was ranked No. 41 in Top Drawer Soccer's National Player ratings and No. 2 in southern California.
