Tulsa Oilers News Release

ALLEN, TX - Darryl Bootland scored twice and Allen goaltender David Brown turned aside 31 shots as the Americans pushed past the Oilers for a 3-1 win on Friday night at the Allen Event Center. Tulsa's three-game win streak came to an end along with its three-game road winning streak. The Oilers dropped to 1-4-1 this season against the Americans.

Five and a half minutes into the first period, Michel Beausoleil recorded the only offense of the night for the Oilers. Beausoleil, the reigning CHL Player of the Week, one-timed a feed from Ben Gordon past Brown to give the Oilers the early lead. The Montreal native leads Tulsa with 10 goals this season. The visitors carried a 1-0 advantage into the second period.

At 3:38 of the middle frame, Phil Fox found himself open in front of the Oilers net and chipped the puck past Shane Madolora to even the score. Six minutes later, Americans rookie forward Alex Lavoie drove hard to the Oilers net and was denied by Madolora but the rebound squirted out the slot and was buried by Bootland. Allen surged into the lead for the first time in the game and the home side didn't look back. The Americans fired 23 shots in the second period, the most shots the Oilers have allowed in a single period this season.

In the third, Brown stopped all nine of the Tulsa shots he faced and Bootland provided the insurance with his second tally of the game at 17:05.

Tulsa went 0-for-6 on its power play chances and dropped to 3-2-2 on the road this season. The Oilers and Americans will clash again on Saturday in Allen at 7:05 p.m. before finishing their weekend series in Tulsa on Sunday afternoon.
