Three Things You Need to Know

1.) Sundogs Return Home- Finally, the Arizona Sundogs (4-8-1) fans get to see their team as they play at Tim's Toyota Center for the first time in 20 days. The Sundogs return home from their five-game road trip on a three-game win streak and will take on the Quad City Mallards (5-3-1) in games on Friday and Saturday. The Flock have played the fewest road games of any CHL team going 1-1-1 in those games. Arizona has been riding the hot play of goaltender Andrew Engelage who is the reigning Oakley Goalie of the Week after allowing just five scores in his three victories last week. Arizona will be even deeper in net with the acquisition of Chris Rawlings, assigned by the Phoenix Coyotes.

2.) We Meet Again- The Tulsa Oilers (7-6-2) play a three-games-in-three-night series against the Allen Americans (9-3-1) this weekend with games Friday and Saturday in Allen and Sunday in Tulsa. The two teams became quite familiar with each other at the start of the season playing five times over a nine-day period. The Americans won four of those games but all four wins came by just one goal. Tulsa has turned things around since their 0-5-2 start to the season by going 7-1 in their last eight games. Tulsa's offense has been hot lately scoring 16 goals in their last three games. Brandon Coccimiglio has three goals and two assists. Todd Robinson has one goal and six assists and Michel Beausoleil has four goals and two assists over the team's last three games. Allen has dropped three of their last five games overall scoring just four times in those three losses.

3.) Home Dominance- The Denver Cutthroats (8-3-3-) are coming off a convincing 4-1 win at home on Tuesday night over the Missouri Mavericks (9-2-0) handing the Mavs just their second loss of the season. Winning in the Denver Coliseum is nothing new for the Cutthroats who are riding a nine-game home point streak this season (7-0-2) and 12 games dating back to last season (9-0-3). Denver has outscored the opposition 38-23 on home ice this season and this weekend will host the Brampton Beast (7-6-1) in games on Friday and Saturday. The Beast are 1-2-0 on their current 11-game road trip after Wednesday's 2-1 win in St. Charles. Denver's Garett Bembridge leads all CHL players with 24 points, 13 goals and is tied for the league lead with three game winning goals.

By the Numbers

3: The number of shootout goals the Rapid City Rush has scored in three attempts this season serving as the only team to sit perfect in shootouts. Only the Brampton Beast has not participated in a shootout this season and the Allen Americans lead all teams with four shootouts (3-1 in those games). Denver and Tulsa are at the other end of the spectrum from Rapid City both scoring five times on 29 attempts (17%).

One-Timers

-Former Wichita Thunder forward Greger Hanson has signed with the Allen Americans, the team the Thunder lost to in the CHL Finals last season. Hanson scored seven goals with six assists in 14 playoff games and had 44 points (21-23=44) in 44 games during the regular season.

-The Rapid City Rush (10-1-0) are the lone unbeaten CHL team on the road sitting with a perfect 5-0 record. They take on the Wichita Thunder (2-8-4) on Friday and Saturday at the INTRUST Bank Arena, the Thunder are one of two teams (Arizona) without a win on home ice (0-5-2).

-Phil Bushbacher has been a nice addition for the St. Charles Chill scoring three goals with an assist in six games. He is also a team-best +5 and has rattled off 33 shots on goal.

-Quad City Mallards Head Coach Terry Ruskowski is one win shy of tying Chris Stewart for third on the CHL's all-time wins list. Ruskowski has the Mallards at 5-3-1 giving him 414 wins (has spent time behind the bench for the Mallards, Laredo Bucks and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees).

-Missouri forward Sebastien Thinel recorded an assist in Tuesday's loss at Denver giving him 548 all-time CHL assists tying him with Chris Richards for third place. Thinel is currently riding a CHL season-long nine-game point streak with five goals and 10 assists during his streak.

-CHL-TV, powered by America ONE Sports, is back for a second season with monthly and season packages available as well as all games on a given night available for $8.00. Visit www.americaonesports.com for ordering information.
