Oilers Re-Sign Goalie

TULSA, OK- The Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League have re-signed Goalie Rod Branch, Head Coach Garry Unger announced today.

Branch re-joins the Oilers after appearing in 62 games last season in a Tulsa sweater, recording a record of 29-28-4 while spending an incredible 3,656 minutes between the pipes. His save percentage last season was .902, his goal against average was 3.12, and he recorded a career high four shutouts.

The upcoming 2002-2003 season will be the fifth season that Branch has either spent part of, or the whole season with the Oilers. His career record in Tulsa is 65-63-11, appearing in 145 games and racking up 8,452 minutes played.

Before joining the Oilers last season, Branch spent the 2000-2001 season with the Oklahoma City Blazers where he helped them win the CHL Championship and was named the Most Valuable Player of the playoffs that year. Prior to that, Branch spent time with the Topeka ScareCrows and the New Mexico Scorpions, then of the Western Professional Hockey League. He has an overall career record of 143-116-19.
