July 10, 2002 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
TULSA, OK- The Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League have signed a new radio broadcaster, General Manager Corey MacIntyre announced today. The new voice of the Oilers for the upcoming 2002-2003 season will be Stuart Paul.
"We're extremely excited about having Stu on board for next season," said MacIntyre. "He brings a wealth of experience behind the mic, not only in hockey, sports broadcasting in general."
Paul brings seven seasons of hockey broadcast experience to the radio booth in Tulsa. He has spent the last three seasons as play-by-play announcer of the San Antonio Iguanas of the CHL. Prior to his stint in San Antonio, Paul spent two seasons with the Waco Wizards of the Western Professional Hockey League, where he was their radio broadcaster during the 1996-98 seasons. His other hockey experience came in Utica, New York, where he did all radio broadcasts for the Utica Blizzard of the Colonial Hockey League from 1994 to 1996.
"I am very excited and enthused about coming to the great city of Tulsa," said Paul. "Tulsa has always been one of my favorite CHL cities."
To go with his seven years of hockey experience, Paul also has shown his versatility as a play-by-play announcer, spending nine years broadcasting baseball games, and another year doing basketball.
"I am looking forward to working for a great organization in the Oilers, as well as for the great hockey fans in Tulsa," said Paul.
The 2002-2003 Tulsa Oilers season will begin in October. For information on season tickets for the upcoming season, contact the Oilers office at 632-7825.
