
Oilers Assign Vandevelde, Hartikainen and Teubert to Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers assigned forwards Chris VandeVelde and Teemu Hartikainen along with defenseman Colten Teubert to the Oklahoma City Barons, Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today.
VandeVelde, a 6-2, 204-pounder from Moorhead, Minn. returns to the Barons where he has recorded 22 points (7-15-22) in 65 games. This season, he played five games with the and registered his first NHL goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 25. The Oilers fourth round selection (97th overall) has played in 17 NHL games and scored three points (1-2-3).
Hartikainen, a 6-1, 215-pounder from Kuopio, Finland, returns to the Barons where he scored 30 points (14-16-30) in 48 games. This season, he played 17 games with the Oilers, recording five points (2-3-5). That includes a two-goal effort on April 1 against the Anaheim Ducks. The Oilers sixth-round pick (163rd overall) he has played a total of 29 games with Oilers over the last two seasons scoring 10 points (5-5-10). He .
Teubert, a 6-4, 205-pounder from White Rock, B.C. returns to the Barons where he has scored 10 points (2-8-10). With the Oilers this season, he played a total of 24 games, registered one assist and served 25 penalty minutes. Teubert, originally a first round draft choice of the Los Angeles Kings (13th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, was acquired from the Kings in exchange for Dustin Penner.
The Barons close out their regular season with three games this weekend. Friday, the Barons play the Houston Aeros, AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, in their final home game of the regular season. Faceoff is 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. Saturday, they travel to Cedar Park, Texas to take on the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars at 7 p.m. The regular season concludes Sunday at 3:30 p.m. when the take on San Antonio, AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers. All three games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
