
Milwaukee Gets by Aeros in Shootout

HOUSTON --- Brett Bulmer scored and Matt Hackett made 31 saves for the Houston Aeros in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Milwaukee Admirals Sunday night at Toyota Center.
Jeff Taffe scored for Houston in the shootout, but Jonathon Blum and Ryan Thang scored for the Admirals, who won the shootout 2-1.
Houston is now 33-24-5-11 with 82 points on the season and locked in a four-way points tie with the Admirals, Lake Erie and Peoria. If the season ended Sunday, the Aeros would have the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference playoff race due to tiebreakers. Houston has three games remaining in the regular season.
Bulmer tied the score at 1-1 with his first professional goal at 7:14 in the third period.
Chris Mueller scored a shorthanded goal at 19:02 in the second period to give Milwaukee a 1-0 lead.
Atte Engren made 22 saves and stopped four of five shots in the shootout for Milwaukee.
The Aeros travel to Oklahoma City Friday to take on the Oklahoma City Barons at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cox Convention Center before returning home Saturday to face the San Antonio Rampage at 7:35 p.m. at Toyota Center. Houston ends the season April 15 against the Texas Stars at 5:05 p.m. at Toyota Center.

Hackett is also third in wins with 41, fifth in minutes and second in total shots.
