
Oilers Assign Chorney and Teubert to OKC

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers assigned defensemen Taylor Chorney and Colten Teubert to the Oklahoma City Barons, Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today. In a separate transaction, the Barons assigned defenseman Dan Ringwald to the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, Barons General Manager Bill Scott announced today.
Chorney, a 6-1, 200-pounder from Thunder Bay, Ontario was originally placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Oklahoma City October 10. However he was claimed by the St. Louis Blues. Chorney was designated for assignment by the Blues yesterday and the Oilers re-claimed him off of waivers. He was then assigned to Oklahoma City. Last season, Chorney played 46 games with the Barons, registering 16 points (3-13-16). He has appeared in 58 NHL games, scoring seven points (1-6-7).
Teubert, a 6-4, 210-pounder from White Rock, B.C. was recalled by Edmonton November 2. He played in two games with the Oilers, registering one point. He has played nine games with the Barons games this season recording four points (2-2-4) and 18 penalty minutes.
Ringwald, a 6-2, 190-pounder from Oakville, Ontario was recalled by Oklahoma City November 2. He appeared in two games with Oklahoma City, registering one shot on goal. Prior to his recall, he had played six games with the Stockton Thunder, the Barons ECHL affiliate. He registered five points (2-3-5) in those six games.
The Barons skate in back-to-back home games this weekend against the Charlotte Checkers at the Cox Convention Center. Faceoff is 7 p.m. Sunday, the Barons take on the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisc. at 5 p.m.
