Edmonton Oil Kings News Release
Hundreds of school children throughout the greater Edmonton area will be able to attend Oil Kings games this season with the introduction of the Edmonton Oil Kings Adopt-A-School program. Oilers defenceman Jason Strudwick made a triumphant return to his elementary school roots when he helped announce the 'Adopt A School' initiative at Holy Cross Elementary School this afternoon.
Strudwick was joined by Oilers teammates Kyle Brodziak, Marc Pouliot, and Steve MacIntyre, and their special guest, Oil Kings goaltender Dalyn Flette.
"For me, it's very special to not only help launch such a great program, but to also adopt my former school. It's a real thrill to feel like I'm helping build a fan base at the grass roots level," said Strudwick, who presented Oil King tickets to the students at Holy Cross.
The Oil Kings Adopt A School fan development initiative has several unique elements. Any person or company can 'Adopt A School' for just $300, which provides tickets to an Oil Kings game for 10 kids and 10 parents/guardians, for a total of 20 game tickets. The program can be expanded to include an entire school should the 'Adopt A School' donor wish to provide a more universal program for the school of choice.
The 'Adopt A School' donor will receive a tax receipt, in game recognition at an Oil Kings game, ticket delivery, a letter acknowledging the donation along with a certificate of appreciation.
Oil Kings Adopt A School information is available by contacting the Oil Kings sales team at 780-409-3700.
