ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 15-9-2-3 record (9-4-1-1 at home, 6-5-1-2 on the road, 0-2-4-3 in overtime) and third place in the CENTRAL DIVISION and are tied for fifth place in the WHL...This week the ICE will start a five game road trip to the US DIVISION (November 28 - SEATTLE, November 29 - EVERETT, December 2 - PORTLAND, December 3 - TRI-CITY, December 6 - SPOKANE).
TIM HORTONS NIGHT: When KOOTENAY hosts the KAMLOOPS BLAZERS on December 10 it will be TIM HORTONS Night...The Timbits will be playing a game of hockey during the intermission and prior to the game we will be collecting non perishable food items for the CRANBROOK and KIMBERLEY FOOD BANKS.
A&W TEDDY BEAR / MITTEN TOSS: When the ICE hosts the MOOSE JAW WARRIORS on December 13 it will be the annual A & W TEDDY BEAR / MITTEN TOSS Night...Fans are encouraged to bring new, unused Bears (due to distribution in health care facilities) and mittens to the game that will be tossed on to the ice when KOOTENAY scores their first goal...Bears collected at this game will be distributed to the Salvation Army, the Angel Tree and various other community organizations.
FAMILY PACKS: The ICE have FAMILY PACKS on sale for Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday home games during the 2008-2009 season...FAMILY PACKS are $45.00 and include two adult tickets, two youth or student tickets, a parking voucher, a game program voucher, and two McDonald Happy Meal vouchers...For more information, or to purchase a FAMILY PACK, call or visit the KOOTENAY ICE Office.

DID YOU KNOW: KOOTENAY is 13-6-2-3 when outshooting their opponent, 1-3-0-0 when outshot by their opponent and 1-0-0-0 when shots are tied...The ICE are 9-0-1-0 when they score the first goal of the game and 6-9-1-3 when their opponent scores first...KOOTENAY is 8-0-1-0 when leading after the second period, 3-8-0-3 when losing and 4-1-1-0 when tied...DUSTIN SYLVESTER, who is first in the League in short handed goals with five, is third in short handed goals in franchise history with nine (DUNCAN MILROY - 11, RYAN RUSSELL - 10)... ANDREW BAILEY, who has played in 245 consecutive WHL games dating back to 2005-2006 season, is tied third in franchise history for game winning goals with 18 (NIGEL DAWES - 29, STEVE DASILVA - 19, ZDENEK BLATNY - 18)...TYLER VANSCOURT recorded his first WHL goal on November 21 against BRANDON...TYLAN STEPHENS recorded his 50 and 51 WHL assists against BRANDON (November 21)...JOHN NEGRIN needs to play in four more games to reach 200 WHL career games...BRAYDEN MCNABB needs to play in three more games to reach 100 WHL career games...NORTH AMERICAN CENTRAL SCOUTING has ranked LIEUWEN first among WHL goaltenders and MCNABB 15th among skaters in the WHL preliminary rankings for the Fall...DUSTIN SYLVESTER and JOHN NEGRIN have been selected to be part of TEAM WHL for the 2008 ADT CANADA RUSSIA CHALLENGE which will be played in SWIFT CURRENT (November 26) and PRINCE ALBERT (November 27)...MAX REINHART (TEAM PACIFIC) and DREW CZERWONKA (TEAM WEST) have been selected to play at the 2009 WORLD UNDER 17 HOCKEY CHALLENGE in PORT ALBERNI from December 28 - January 4.
INJURY: Forward STEELE BOOMER will be out of the KOOTENAY line up day to day with a concussion.
SCORING STREAKS: ANDREW BAILEY (6-8-14) and DUSTIN SYLVESTER (6-8-14) have each recorded at least in a point in their last seven games...IAN BARTEAUX (1-5-6) has recorded at least in a point in his last five games.
ONE YEAR AGO: After 29 games of the 2007-2008 season the ICE 16-10-3-0, after 30 games 17-10-3-0 and 31 games 18-10-3-0.
