Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings mixed up their roster a bit coming out of the Christmas Break. Oil Kings General Manager Bob Green traded veteran forward Clayton Cumiskey to the Everett Silvertips in exchange for Edmonton Oilers draft pick Cameron Abney.

Abney is an 18 year old right winger from Aldergrove, BC and was selected in the 3rd round, 87th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.

"Cameron is definitely a physical presence, you sure notice him whenever he's on the ice." described Bob Green. "We want to be a tougher team to play against and Abney brings that element of the game to the table. It's a good opportunity for him to develop into an Edmonton Oiler a little closer to the team that drafted him."

Abney has played 34 games for the Silvertips this season where he's registered 3 goals and 3 assists to go along with his 60 penalty minutes so far.

Cumiskey was an original Oil King coming over to the team from the Swift Current Broncos in the 2007 WHL Expansion Draft. The Abbotsford, BC native played 153 games as an Oil King where he scored 18 goals, 33 assists for 51 points.
