JACKSONVILLE, FL - Early runs and a strong six innings from Justin Nicolino helped the Jacksonville Suns (30-19, 66-53) coast to a 6-1 victory over the Mississippi Braves (28-21, 67-51) on Saturday night from Bragan Field.

Justin Nicolino (W, 11-3) collected his Southern League-leading 11th win of the year by holding the Braves scoreless on six hits while walking two batters and striking out three in six excellent innings. The left-hander is now riding a 24-inning scoreless streak.

Collin Cargill gave up a lone run (earned) on a pair of hits in 0.2 innings of work.

Frankie Reed retired each of the seven hitters he faced in 2.1 dominant innings of relief, striking out one batter along the way.

Ryan Weber (L, 5-5) took the loss after allowing five runs (all earned) on nine hits in 3.0 innings of work, striking out one batter in his Saturday night start.

After Justin Nicolino worked a scoreless top of the first, his offense spotted him an early lead by plating a run one half inning later. J.T. Realmuto drove in Austin Nola with a RBI single to give Jacksonville a 1-0 lead after the first inning of play.

The Suns continued their hot hitting early in the ballgame, scoring three times in the bottom of the second inning. Justin Nicolino helped his own cause with a RBI single while J.T. Realmuto dropped in a big two-out, two-run double to make it a 4-0 Suns lead with two innings in the books.

Jacksonville furthered its advantage in the bottom of the third, using Yosmany Guerra's (HR, 1) first home run at the Double-A level to make it a 5-0 Suns lead.

Austin Barnes helped the Suns add to their lead by driving in Terrence Dayleg with a sacrifice fly, pushing Jacksonville's lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the sixth.

It took Mississippi until the top of the seventh inning to hop on the scoreboard, as a two-out RBI double from Mycal Jones cut Jacksonville's lead to 6-1 in the seventh and cap off Saturday night's scoring in the process.

The Suns and Braves will be back at it on Sunday, with first pitch set for 6:05 p.m. The Suns will start right-hander Dustin Moseley (1-1, 2.84) while the Braves will counter with right-hander Mitch Atkins (5-0, 4.20) in the series finale.

Suns fans can listen to Sunday's game on the Suns Baseball Network, 94.1 WSOS-FM or through www.jaxsuns.com, MiLB.com or the Suns iPhone or Android app, beginning at 5:35 p.m. ET with the Memorial Hospital Suns Pregame Show.
