PENSACOLA, FLA. - The Seattle Mariners have announced the following roster moves that affect the Generals roster. C Mike Dowd has been placed on the disabled list and C Carlton Tanabe has been activated from (R) Pulaski. Also, to recap yesterday's transactions, RHP Matt Anderson was activated from the DL and transferred to High Desert. RHP David Colvin was activated from Jackson's DL and has retired. The Generals' play game four of the series at Pensacola tonight at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Dowd, 24, has been placed on the disabled list with a non-displaced left forearm fracture. Dowd collided with Pensacola first baseman Ray Chang on the final play of Thursday's game at Bayfront Stadium. In 55 games this season, Dowd was batting .209 (38x182) with 5 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 13 RBI. Dowd caught 37.5% of base stealers this season, behind the plate. He was Seattle's 12th round selection in the 2011 draft out of Franklin Pierce University in Ringe, NH.

Tanabe, 22, has been promoted from the (R) Pulaski roster to Jackson. The native of Pearl City, HI was batting .326 (46x141) for the Appalachian League Mariners in 39 games with 13 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 21 RBI. This will be Tanabe's third stint in Jackson. He played in 1 game with no at-bat in 2010 and last year appeared in 3 games going 1-for-10 at the plate with 2 RBI. Tanabe was drafted by the Mariners in the 24th round of the 2009 draft out of Pearl City High School in Pearl City, HI.
