Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (March 17)- Four goals allowed in the final period spelled doom for the Brahmas chance for the victory as they fell 4-1 Wednesday night in Rapid City against the Rush. Adam Chorneyko in just his third game with the Brahmas put the purple and black on the board when he went five hole on Danny Battochio on the rebound for his first goal of the season. As the first period concluded, the antics continued on the ice when Luke Fritshaw took exception to a hit by James Hiebert leading to fisticuffs at the 20:00 mark.

It looked as if Texas took a two goal lead when an initial shot by Kevin McLeod goal found Jason Deitsch to find the back of the net, but was waved off with the explanation that Deitsch had a kicking motion to direct the puck in. Instead, minutes later Rapid City's Brendon Hodge skated in on a two-on-one with 15:50 left in the game and tied the game at 1-1. Within two minutes the Rush found the lead when Colt King netted his 26th of the season.

What seemed to be a harmless shot from the top of circle shot by Dave Grimson beat Joe Palmer for the third goal in the game for the Rush at the 10:27 mark. Palmer gave up one final goal in the period, this time to Jon Pelle with three minutes left in regulation for the 4-1 Texas loss.

The Brahmas have one final game in the regular season as they host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs Saturday night at the NYTEX Sports Centre in Fan Appreciation Night. Prior to the 7:05 PM faceoff fans are invited to a crawfish boil and will be treated to several gift opportunities throughout the evening. After the game a live game worn jersey auction will take place. For ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423.
