Kitchener Rangers News Release
The Rangers welcomed their Highway 7 rivals to the Aud for a Tuesday night matchup, hoping to build off a successful game in Windsor on the weekend. This was the teams' 5th meeting this season.
Early in the first period, the Rangers got themselves into penalty trouble giving Guelph their first powerplay five minutes into the game. Guelph would end up capitalizing on that opportunity, getting the 1-0 lead. The Rangers and Storm then exchanged penalties throughout the rest of the period, but the score remained 1-0.
The first half of the second period saw no changes to the score. Just past the midway point, Guelph's Matthew Papais scored on a three-on-one to extend their lead to 2-0. Guelph would then add another goal late on the powerplay to make it 3-0.
Guelph added one more with a minute remaining in the third, the final being 4-0.
It was not the Rangers' night as they got outshot 40 -17, Pavel Cajan stopping 37 of those 40.
Our next home game is on Friday, Nov 5th at 7:30 p.m. Join us for our 16th annual Remembrance Day Game and Jersey Auction.
