The Chicago Cubs have announced the following roster moves affecting the Myrtle Beach Pelicans:

-OF Jose Gutierrez has been assigned to Low-A South Bend from Myrtle Beach.-OF Roberto Caro has been activated from the 7-day disabled list.

Gutierrez played in 14 games with Myrtle Beach, batting .239/.314/391 with three doubles, two triples and one RBI. The Anzoategui, Venezuela native also played in 17 games with Rookie-level Mesa this season, hitting .245/.333/.286 with two doubles and two RBIs. The 19-year-old was originally signed by the Cubs as a non-drafted free agent in 2015.

After hitting .375/.460/.555 with eight doubles, six triples, one home run, 17 RBIs and 17 steals with Low-A South Bend, Caro continued his breakout year in Myrtle Beach. Over 17 contests with the Pelicans, the San Cristobal, D.R., native was slashing .386/.453/.509 with four doubles, one homer, nine RBIs and nine swipes. Caro split last year between Myrtle Beach, South Bend and Double-A Tennessee, hitting .239/.351/.343 with nine doubles, seven triples, one home run, 30 RBIs and 20 stolen bases in 98 games.

The Pelicans' roster sits at 25 active players, with five players on the disabled list.
