Missouri River Otters News Release

Tim O'Connell and Jim Duhart each scored two goals as the Missouri River Otters took down the Port Huron Flags 4-1 Wednesday night at the Family Arena.

The River Otters dominated the first period. Duhart opened the scored with a terrific re-direction off a great pass from Lonnie Loach. The Flags responded with a goal of their own when Brett Lutes scored on a power-play, but Duhart made it 2-1 with a laser-beam wrister with three minutes left in the first period. They weren't done yet, however, as in the final minute of the opening period O'Connell received a pass from Duhart and smoked a top-shelf slap-shot behind Port Huron goaltender Jeremy Symington. Neither team scored in the second period and the score remained 3-1 heading into the final period. O'Connell added another goal in the third period to put the Otters up 4-1. Kevin reiter made 34 saves in the victory while Jeremy Symington made 31 saves in defeat.

The River Otters travel to Port Huron to take on the Flags Friday night at McMorran Place. The puck drops at 6:30 CST, and all the action can be heard on the B2 Networks, located at www.riverotters.com.
