Oakland Roots are set to face the Tacoma Defiance in the teams' first-ever meeting. Roots most recently fell to Phoenix Rising in their first USL Championship match at Laney College in downtown Oakland. Despite having several goal scoring opportunities, Roots were unable to find the back of the net. The team looks for their second win of the season as they head to Tacoma for the first time in league play, having previously played Tacoma in preseason.
