Oakland Roots End Scoreless Run, But Lose 5th Straight Game

Oakland Roots News Release

Oakland Roots were able to find the back for the first time since July 10th, thanks to a free kick from the captain Wall Fall in the second half. The goal was just a consolation however as Oakland gave up three first half goals including two just before the halftime whistle. Mistakes at the back led to the first goal after poor clearances from De La Paz. Then, a penalty kick late in the half conceded by Jose Hernandez gave Tacoma a 2-0 lead. Moments after the second, the hosts had a third as the ball looked to go over the end line before being tapped back across goal for another score.

Oakland Roots return home to play Sacramento Republic, a game rescheduled from June 19th. Republic and Roots have played twice this season to two draws.
