NYRB II Concludes Homestand with Match against Charleston Battery

HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II (3-17-3, 12 points) will host the Charleston Battery (3-16-4, 13 points) on Friday, August 12, at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.

The match will mark the 17th all-time meeting between the clubs, with New York holding a 6-2-8 lead. The two sides met four times last season, with each winning a match along with two draws. Charleston defeated New York 3-2 in the last meeting at MSU Soccer Park on August 20, 2021.

Red Bulls II will look to build off its 2-1 comeback victory against Atlanta United 2 on Tuesday, August 9, at MSU Soccer Park. O'Vonte Mullings scored the match-winning goal in the 90th minute, which is tied for the third-latest go-ahead goal in club regular season history. Steven Sserwadda has recorded a goal or an assist in each of New York's last three matches.

Charleston enters the match looking to bounce back after falling 4-1 to Louisville City FC on Saturday, August 6, at Lynn Family Stadium. Augustine Williams scored his team-leading 12th goal in the match, moving him into a tie for fifth in USL Championship. He has scored five goals over Charleston's last four matches, including a brace against Hartford Athletic on July 16.

Friday's match will conclude a season-long four match homestand for Red Bulls II, a stretch that covered 13 days. The club will play seven of its final 10 home matches on the road, including the final three.

New York sits 14th in the Eastern Conference, while Charleston ranks 13th.

Following the match, New York will travel to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Saturday, August 20. Kickoff at Highmark Stadium is set for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on ESPN+.
