
Inside the 18: Hassan Ndam Returns to Starting XI against the Charleston Battery

New York Red Bulls II will host the Charleston Battery on Friday, August 12, at MSU Soccer Park.
The two clubs will meet for the 17th time in their history, with New York holding a 6-2-8 advantage. It also marks their first meeting of the season, with the return match in Charleston set for Saturday, September 3, at Patriots Point.
Hassan Ndam will return to the starting lineup, joining Curtis Ofori, Daniel De Leon, and O'Vonte Mullings along the back line. Ndam needs 84 minutes to pass Jared Stroud for fifth in club history.
Mullings will wear the captain's armband.
Jesús Castellano and Steven Sserwadda will make up the defensive midfield. Sserwadda has scored or assisted a goal in each of New York's last three matches.
New York's attack will feature Wiki Carmona, Caden Clark, Jordan Adebayo-Smith, and Zach Ryan.
Giannis Nikopolidis will start in net for the seventh-straight contest.
The bench for Red Bulls II will have Christopher Cragwell, Lamine Conte, John Murphy, Erick Ruiz, and Jonathan Filipe. Red Bulls Academy goalkeeper Alan Rutkowski will serve as the backup goalkeeper.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage on ESPN+.
