NWA Loses Ninth Straight on Tuesday

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals (18-28) dropped their ninth straight with a 5-1 loss to the Corpus Christi Hooks (22-24) on Tuesday night to open a six-game series at Arvest Ballpark. The set continues on Wednesday with a 7:05 PM CT first pitch.

Noah Cameron got the start of the Naturals on Tuesday, with the lefty working through his first two innings without issue. In the third, the Hooks took a 3-0 lead against Cameron. A pair of hits led off the inning before Kenedy Corona hit a deep homer to left, giving Corpus Christi a 3-0 advantage.

Two more runs scored in the fifth and sixth, with the Naturals crossing one run in the bottom of the fifth. Tyler Tolbert doubled to right and scored when Jorge Bonifacio singled to left, making it a 4-1 game. The Hooks scored in the sixth and took a 5-1 lead, going on to win by the same score.

The Naturals and Hooks continue their series on Wednesday with a 7:05 PM CT first pitch as RHP Beck Way (0-3, 9.53) takes the mound for the Naturals against Hooks RHP Blair Henley (0-1, 5.63).
