
Nuts Fall 10-0 to Quakes

Modesto, CA. - A pair of five run bursts sent the Modesto Nuts to a 10-0 loss against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Sunday night at John Thurman Field.
After a scoreless three innings to start the game, the Quakes (64-44; 29-9) got to Reggie McClain (L, 3-9) for five runs in the fourth inning. Connor Wong and Jeren Kendall went back-to-back with doubles to drive in the first run of the game. The big damage came with two outs. Gavin Lux doubled home two runs. Omar Estevez capped the rally with a two-run single.
McClain worked 3 2/3 innings allowing five runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
In the sixth, the Quakes pushed across another five runs against Nuts (44-64; 14-24) reliever Danny Garcia. The Quakes sent ten to the plate in the inning with five different players recording single RBI.
Ben Holmes (W, 1-0) heaved five strong innings for the Quakes with eight strikeouts and one walk while allowing just two singles.
Jack Anderson and Wyatt Mills combined to work two perfect innings out of the bullpen for the Nuts.
