
Nuts Fail to Seize Early Chances in 4-2 Loss

Modesto, C.A. - Early opportunities slipped by the Modesto Nuts in a 4-2 loss to the Lake Elsinore Storm on Wednesday night at John Thurman Field.
In the first four innings, the Nuts (10-16) put men on and in scoring position in each frame. Storm (12-15) starter Dinelson Lamet (W, 4-1) danced out of trouble and stranded eight runners in the first four innings. Lamet finished after six innings with six strikeouts, two walks and no runs allowed.
Yency Almonte (L, 2-2) surrendered four hits and two runs in the first two innings before settling in. Almonte worked around three singles in his final four innings tossing six frame with seven K's, two runs allowed and one walk.
Colby Blueburg (S, 4/4) shut the door with a perfect ninth for the Storm.
Shane Hoelscher went 2-for-4 with a double, a RBI triple and a run scored.
