Modesto, C.A. - A 14-hit output backed another great start by Parker French in the Modesto Nuts' 8-0 triumph over the Lake Elsinore Storm on Thursday night at John Thurman Field.
Parker French (W, 1-0) tossed 6.1 innings for the Nuts (11-16) without allowing a run and striking out five. The righty only walked one. The lone jam he fell into was in the seventh. After getting the first out, French allowed a double, hit a batter and walked one to load the bases before exiting the game. Helmis Rodriguez worked out of the jam and tossed 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
Thomas Dorminy (L, 0-4) started for the Storm (12-16) and ran into trouble early. The Nuts got him for two hits in the first before Shane Hoelscher cracked a two-run double.
In the third, Wes Rogers smacked a RBI double. An error lead to another run before Collin Ferguson drove in the third run of the inning. Ferguson went 3-for-3 with three singles. In the fifth, Luis Jean tacked on with a two-run double. Emerson Jimenez followed with a RBI double of his own.
Omar Carrizales went 2-for-4 with a walk. Troy Stein walked three times and lined a double in the seventh.
