Modesto, CA. - A couple of late runs sent the Modesto Nuts to a 3-2 loss against the San Jose Giants at John Thurman Field on Tuesday night.
In the fifth, the Giants (55-53; 25-13) got on the board for the first time on a Seth Harrison home run. In the seventh, the Giants plated a pair against Trent Daniel (L, 3-4). Harrison knocked a single into center that scooted under Rosell Herrera's glove allowing Brain Ragira to score the tying run. Ty Ross immediately followed with a go-ahead RBI double.
The Nuts (58-50; 25-13) had taken an early lead against the Giants' starter Jordan Johnson (W, 1-0). Ryan McMahon cracked a two-out, first-inning RBI single, one of two hits for the Nuts' third baseman. Michael Benjamin Jr. went 3-for-4 including a RBI single in the third.
Alex Balog was good for the Nuts tossing six innings and allowing just one run on three hits with four strikeouts and only one walk.
