9th Annual A Giant Luau August 14 at Municipal Stadium

SAN JOSE, CA- The San Jose Giants will bring island culture and Hawaiian cuisine back to Municipal Stadium for the 9th Annual A Giant Luau, presented by Kilohana Outrigger Canoe Club and LaFrance Foundation, on Friday, August 14 at 7:00 PM against the Lancaster Jethawks. The evening will be full of Hawaiian festivities ranging from hula dancers and island music to the annual pig roasting ceremony in Turkey Mike's BBQ. This year, fans will also be treated to a special Postgame Fireworks Extravaganza.

"A Giant Luau has become a Municipal Stadium tradition, allowing fans to experience and embrace the 'Aloha' spirit of the Hawaiian islands while enjoying San Jose Giants baseball and a Postgame Fireworks show," said Juliana Paoli, Chief Marketing Officer of the San Jose Giants. "With hula dancers, island music and a special pig roasting, the entire ballpark atmosphere is guaranteed to make everyone feel like they are in Hawaii."

Fans that wear Hawaiian clothing to the game Friday night will receive two FREE future game tickets. Gates open at 6:00 PM and make sure to be one of the first 1,000 fans in attendance to receive a festive lei. The team will wear special Hawaiian themed jerseys that fans can bid on during an in-game silent auction. The highest bidder will be able to go on the field following the game and receive their newly autographed jersey right off the respective San Jose Giant's back.

Famous Turkey Mike's BBQ will be serving native Hawaiian cuisine including roasted pig, Hawaiian style burgers, macaroni salad and much more. The Hukilau Restaurant will also be serving authentic cuisine. Traditional music from the islands will be provided by Eono Kane, accompanied by Hula dancers from Halau Na Wai Ola. A Tacky Tourist Contest and other festive luau themed promotions will take place throughout the night. Vendors with Hawaiian goods and snacks will add to the Luau festivities.
