Nurse Invited to Canada's National Junior Team Summer Development Camp

Soo Greyhounds defenceman, and captain, DARNELL NURSE has been named to the roster for Canada's National Junior Team summer camp for the second straight time. The announcement was made by Hockey Canada earlier this morning.

He will be one of 41 players invited to take park in the camp in early August.

"We are thrilled for Darnell to be returning to the Team Canada World Junior Selection Camp. The camp in Montreal will really launch an exciting time for Darnell as he heads to Edmonton shortly thereafter to begin his quest to earn a spot with the Oilers this season" stated Greyhounds GM Kyle Dubas.

Nurse, from Hamilton Ontario is coming off his third season with the Hounds.

In 64 regular season games played in 2013-14 the 6.04, 193-lb rearguard posted 13 goals and 37 assists (50 points) before posting 8 points in nine post-season contests.

At the conclusion of the OHL season, Nurse joined the Oklahoma City Barons (AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers) where he had 1 assist in 4 games.

Internationally, Darnell is a two-time member of Team Canada's U18 program (2012 World Championship bronze, and 2012 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka gold).
