
Centre Paul Gets Call to Canada's Camp

NORTH BAY, Ont. - Centre Nick Paul of the North Bay Battalion has been chosen to attend the Canadian national junior team's summer development camp, Hockey Canada announced Monday.
Paul, 19, is among 41 players, including 18 from the Ontario Hockey League, invited to the camp, which is to held Aug. 3-8 at the Quebec centres of Brossard, Montreal and Sherbrooke. A six-foot-three, 199-pound Mississauga resident, Paul is one of 25 forwards invited to the camp.
A fourth-round pick of the Dallas Stars in the 2013 National Hockey League Draft, Paul scored 26 goals and earned 20 assists for 46 points in 67 games last season. He skated in 22 playoff games, scoring 12 goals and adding six assists for 18 points as the Troops advanced to the OHL Championship Series.
Chosen by the Brampton Battalion in the fifth round of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection, Paul contributed 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 points in 66 games as a rookie with Brampton in 2012-13.
Four Battalion members have played for the Canadian junior team, with the last to do it, centre Cody Hodgson, helping lead the squad to a gold medal at the 2009 World Junior Championship at Ottawa.
Stan Butler, Battalion director of hockey operations and head coach, was coach of the Canadian team in 2001 and 2002 after serving as an assistant coach in 1999.
The 2015 tournament is to be played Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 at Montreal and Toronto.
