THE WEEK THAT WAS Sunday, November 13th - 5-3 Loss vs. Saskatoon Blades: The Hurricanes played the lone game of the week on Sunday when they welcomed the Saskatoon Blades. Despite battling back to tie the game early in the third period, the Blades skated away with a 5-3 victory snapping an eight game winning streak for the Hurricanes against Saskatoon. Tyler Wong scored his 100th WHL goal in the loss with a two goal effort while AP call-up Dylan Cozens scored his first WHL goal in his Hurricanes debut.
THIS WEEK'S GAME SCHEDULE Wednesday, November 16th, 7:00pm vs. Kootenay Ice: The Hurricanes kick off a busy week as they will host the Ice at the ENMAX Centre in the first of four games in five nights. The 'Canes beat the Ice 5-4 in the only meeting this season. Friday, November 18th, 8:35pm at Seattle Thunderbirds: The Hurricanes begin a three game in three night US Division road trip on Friday when they visit Mathew Barzal and the Thunderbirds. Last year, the 'Canes took the lone meeting. Saturday, November 19th, 8:00pm at Everett Silvertips: The Hurricanes will face the Silvertips on Saturday night at Xfinity Arena. The 'Canes will need their offense clicking as they will face the reigning CHL Goaltender of the Year in Carter Hart. Sunday, November 20th, 6:00pm at Portland Winterhawks: The Hurricanes wrap up their three-in-three trip on Sunday in Portland against the Winterhawks. The 'Canes will look for their first win against the 'Hawks since 2013. Bowen is currently sidelined with an upper-body injury. Top 30 Players: The Hurricanes continue to unveil their Top 30 Players in franchise history. Coming in at #19 was sniper, Corey Lyons. Lyons was a pure scorer in his two seasons with the Hurricanes registering 254 points (116g-138a) in 145 regular season games. His son Connor is a prospect of the Hurricanes.
