Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Northwoods League has announced the rosters for the 2018 Northwoods League All-Star Game, which will be played on Tuesday, July 24th at 7:30 p.m. (EST) at Homer Stryker Field in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters have five players who will be going to Kalamazoo for the All-Star Game. Two pitchers from the cranberry and gold were selected in Mason McReaken and Trayson Kubo. McReaken (SIU Edwardsville) leads the team in relief appearances at 15 with a 1-1 record, a spotless 0.00 ERA and three saves. The senior is also third on the team in strikeouts with 29. In 23.2 innings out of the bullpen, McReaken has allowed just one unearned run.
Starting pitcher Trayson Kubo (Stephen F. Austin) owns a 4-1 record with a 1.46 ERA in seven starts. Kubo's 1.46 ERA is currently fourth best in the Northwoods League. The Waipahu, HI native is coming off his fourth win of the season holding the Rockford Rivets scoreless in five innings while fanning seven. The junior has struck out six or more batters in four of his seven starts. In a total of 37 innings, Kubo has allowed just six earned runs with 35 strikeouts.
On the offensive side, Jack-Thomas Wold (University of Nevada- Las Vegas) leads the way with a team-leading 54 hits, 12 doubles and 36 RBI. Wold finished just a triple shy of the cycle going 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double and three RBI against the Bullfrogs on July 5th. That performance earned him Northwoods League Player of the Night honors. Wold's 54 hits are also tied for third most in the Northwoods League. The Henderson, NV native is also in the top five of the league in doubles (5th) and RBI (T-4th).
Ty Duvall (Vanderbilt) has made a big impact for the Rafters this season since coming aboard in mid-June. In just his second game in a Rafters uniform, Duvall collected five RBI against the Lakeshore Chinooks. In 23 games, Duvall has failed to get on-base just three times. He is batting .338 with an on-base percentage of .421. He's collected 26 hits, six doubles, two home runs while batting in 17.
Brody Wofford (University of Central Florida) has brought in a little of everything for Wisconsin Rapids. The junior outfielder has twelve multi-games on the season, with three multi-hit games in a row from June 24-26. Wofford leads the team in runs scored at 29 and second in doubles with 11. The Rome, GA native has displayed power and speed with six home runs and five stolen bases in 31 games. Of his 38 total hits, 18 have gone for extra bases.
Field Manager Donnie Scott and his coaching staff from the Madison Mallards will be in the dugout for the South. The First-Half South Division Champion Mallards are holders of a league best 30-15 overall record.
Bismarck Field Manager Sean Repay and his staff will manage the North All-Stars. The First-Half North Division Champion Larks currently have a 27-18 overall record.
This year's All-Stars were chosen in a vote by the 20-member teams of the Northwoods League. Ballots were cast by each team's field staff and media contacts.
