NORMAL, IL - The Normal CornBelters, presented by the Illinois Corn Farmers, lost to the Florence Freedom 4-3 Thursday. Despite 11 hits on offense, Andrew Guarassi pitched six innings, giving up three runs while striking out five.
The hits were there, with Jeff Cowan going 3-for-5 and Asif Shah going 2-for-4. Ross McCoy had an RBI and Chad Rebecca also had an RBI.
The CornBelters play again on the road for the last of the road trip tomorrow with the broadcast on 95.9 FM and WJBC.com beginning at 5:45 PM.
