Nolan, Mavericks Blank Mallards 1-0
March 4, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL) - Quad City Mallards News Release
INDEPENDENCE, MO - Ryan Jardine scored the game's only goal with 8:43 left in the third period and Rob Nolan made 34 saves as the host Missouri Mavericks shutout the Quad City Mallards 1-0 Friday night.
Jardine broke the scoreless deadlock with a drive from the left wing circle.
The Mallards pressured for an equalizer in the final minute after going on the power play and pulling goaltender David Brown (33 saves) to go up 6-on-4, but Nolan made a series of spectacular late saves and the Mavericks hung for the win.
The Mallards return to action at home tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. against the Mavericks. Courtesy of KWQC HD, fans attending Saturday night's game will have the chance to win the special third jerseys worn by the Mallards in that contest through random drawings.
