No-hitter To Nail-biter

Lynx starter John Ennis threw seven no-hit innings, but it wasn't enough as Pawtucket came back late to win 3-1 in 11 innings.

The loss drops the Lynx record to 48-76 while Pawtucket improves to 59-65.

Lynx Player Of The Day: John Ennis left the game with a no-hitter intact, having struck out nine batters and walking only one. Of his 99 pitches, 65 were for strikes.

Game Recap: The story of the game was RHP John Ennis and his splendid start for the hometown Lynx. Ennis did not allow a hit to the Paw Sox batters, giving up only one run over seven innings. He also struck out a season-high nine batters. He left with the lead, as the Lynx drew first blood with a run in the bottom of the fourth. Jim Rushford reached base on a two-out single. Matt Padgett doubled Rushford over to third base before Gookie Dawkins reached on an error, cashing Rushford. The Lynx bullpen couldn't hold the 1-0 lead, giving up the tying run in the eighth inning, eventually sending the game to extra innings. The Lynx had the potential winning run on third base in both the ninth and the 10th innings, but couldn't bring them home. Pawtucket scored a pair in the top of the 11th, slipping out with a 3-1 win.

Next Game: The Lynx look to get back into the series Thursday night at Lynx Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm on Pathway Hyundai Jr. Lynx Club Thursday.

Probable Pitchers: Thursday vs. Pawtucket: Ottawa RHP Matt Childers (7-2, 5.11) takes on Pawtucket RHP Charlie Zink (2-1, 7.04).
