PORT ST. LUCIE Fla. (August 12, 2015) - The Fort Myers Miracle edged the St. Lucie Mets 1-0 on Wednesday at Tradition Field in the rubber match of the three-game set between the teams.

The lone run scored by the Miracle came in the fifth when Ryan Walker ripped a leadoff triple off of Kevin McGowan and scored on a sac fly by Chad Christensen.

The Mets clubbed out nine hits but went a dreadful 1 for 11 with runners in scoring position. The only hit came from Jeff McNeil with two outs in the fifth and Zack Granite threw out Colton Plaia at the plate in plenty of time for the final out of the inning.

The Mets put a runner at second base in the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth innings but came up empty every time.

Miracle starter Kohl Stewart, the fourth overall pick in the 2013 draft, blanked the Mets over 6.2 innings. Stewart allowed eight hits and one walk but struck out five. The Miracle went 3-0 in Stewart's three starts against the Mets this season.

Corey Williams retired all four batters he faced. Trevor Hildenberger notched his first FSL save with a scoreless ninth. He allowed a leadoff single to Stefan Sabol but stranded Sabol at third base to end the game when he struck out pinch hitter Yeixon Ruiz.

McGowan was sharp in the tough loss. He only needed 80 pitches to get through seven innings. He gave up just one run and four hits. McGowan did not walk or strike out a batter.

In a MLB rehab appearance, Erik Goeddel pitched scoreless eighth. He gave up a single and struck out a batter.

Sabol and Colton Plaia had two hits apiece for the Mets. Plaia had the only extra base hit, a double.

The Mets and Miracle ended up splitting their 18 games. Each team went 9-9 and 6-3 in its home ballpark.

The Mets (59-56, 24-21) hit the road on Thursday to begin a three-game series at the Jupiter Hammerheads. First pitch from Roger Dean Stadium is set for 6:35 p.m.
