NJ/NY Gotham FC News Release
Harrison, NJ - NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women's Soccer League welcomes Justin Marriott to the position of Vice President of Youth Soccer. Marriott will draw on his decades of experience in the industry to enhance Gotham FC's footprint within the youth soccer landscape.
As the Vice President of Youth Soccer, Marriott will facilitate group ticket sales and paid partnerships in the youth soccer space; increase club exposure; and help forge community relations through camps and events. He will also help to design, build, and implement Gotham FC's youth and player development platform.
"It's an honor to join Gotham FC's forward-thinking leadership team and to play a role in the continued transformation of this club," said Marriott. "The New Jersey and New York youth player pool is one of the largest and most talented in the entire country, and look forward to making Gotham FC a major presence in that community."
Prior to joining Gotham FC, Marriott served as an operations and events management advisor for a number of sports organizations and businesses both nationally and globally, including Vogelsinger & Nike Soccer Camps - the largest U.S. sports camp operator since 1975 - and Chevrolet Youth Sports Tour, where he directed over 60 youth clinics in 18 states.
Marriott also had a hand in fiscal oversight for the organizations he represented and advised. In 2021, he directed the operations and administration of two regions for PDA Soccer in New Jersey, with responsibility for over 600 registrations. In total, the groups saw gross revenues of more than $1.8 million in 2021.
"Justin brings more than 30 years of youth coaching, directing, and operations experience to Gotham FC," said General Manager Yael Averbuch West. "That experience, combined with his passion for the game and commitment to developing youth players, makes him a perfect fit to help design and implement our long-term youth and player development strategy."
Earlier in his career, Marriott spent two decades working for USA Sports Group, the umbrella organization for United Soccer Academy and US Sports Institute. There, he was accountable for all operations and administrative functions of the organization which had 250 employees. Specifically, Marriott integrated scheduling software to streamline processes, which improved delivery time by over 18 percent; guided the purchase of a 12,000-square-foot office; led a team that developed and controlled the scheduling of over 150 athletics coaches; and more.
Marriott earned a Bachelor of Sports Science degree at Liverpool John Moores University, UK, and a postgraduate degree in Education from the Loughborough University of Technology, UK.
