
Ninth inning rally lifts Albuquerque over Oklahoma

The Albuquerque Isotopes scored the only runs of Thursday's game in the top of the ninth inning and beat the Oklahoma RedHawks 2-0 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
The Isotopes extended their winning streak to nine games.
The game was scoreless with the two teams combining for 13 hits going into the ninth. Jason Stokes led off the inning by reaching on a throwing error by Oklahoma shortstop Joaquin Arias. The next two Isotope batters flew out to rightfield. Mike Kincade singled to right and Scott Seabol walked to load the bases. Paul Hoover then lined the second pitch he saw into centerfield to score two runs.
The RedHawks loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth, but Brad Clontz struck out the last two RedHawks to earn his fourth save of the season.
The game turned in the bottom of the eighth when Erubiel Durazo doubled to the gap in right-centerfield for Oklahoma. RedHawk second baseman Adam Morrissey tried to score from first, but missed the plate and was tagged for the last out of the inning.
Kinkade had three hits for Albuquerque, including a double. Oklahoma centerfielder Laynce Nix went two-for-four at the plate.
The game was a pitcher's duel between Albuquerque's Renyel Pinto and Oklahoma's Rob Tejeda. Pinto went six innings and gave up no runs on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts. All four hits were singles. He threw 97 pitches, 58 for strikes.
Tejeda went seven innings and gave up no runs on four hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. He stranded the bases loaded in the third and a runner on third in the fourth innings. He also threw 97 pitches, 64 for strikes.
The two teams will meet again Friday at 7:05 p.m. at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
